Turmeric has been known in Indian medicine for 4000 years as a remedy for a number of health problems. It is derived from the same plant family as Clove and the two combine excellently both in ancient Ayurvedic practices and in modern home Aromatherapy to relieve colds, coughs and weakened immunity.
The main ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, an exceptional natural antioxidant that slows down the ageing process and protects the cell structure from changes. Turmeric essential oil has a general strengthening effect on the body and spirit, relieves conditions of depression and anxiety and restores cheerfulness.
Its characteristic deep aroma has a woody note with an earthy accent that makes it easily recognizable.

1. By diffusion with an aroma diffuser. Add 3 drops of essential oil to every 100 ml of water in the diffuser and turn on for 1 hour.
2. For rubbing and massage. Add 4 drops of essential oil to 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of base oil (Almond, Jojoba, Coconut, Olive Oil) for adults or 2 drops of essential oil to 1 tablespoon of base oil for children and apply with massaging movements to the arms, chest, back , along the spine and feet.
3. Added in hair shampoo. In the amount with which you wash your hair, add 2 drops of essential oil. It is recommended to wash the hair twice with shampoo, the first without added oil, to thoroughly clean the scalp and remove the remains of styling agent, sebum, etc. For the second wash, add the two drops of essential oil to the shampoo and mix the two consistencies. Apply to the head using stimulating scalp movements, rub well into the roots. Leave for 2-3 minutes and rinse thoroughly with water. Finish with conditioner and/or mask as usual.
4. To enrich facial products and homemade masks. Added to the daily face cream, Turmeric essential oil acts as an anti-inflammatory, reduces redness and evens out the complexion. You can also add in homemade face masks with huma, avocado, coconut oil, honey, etc.

Turmeric essential oil is not recommended for pregnant women as it can alter the secretion of certain hormones and affect the fetus.
